This event is not a small event.  It goes from July 31-Aug 4 and has a TON of companies with booths and presentations. There are some huge companies, whose presentations are unlikely to be anything to write home about.  But there are also numerous small cap companies that could benefit from both their booth presentation AND from any PR that might come out before the event.

Runup Traders, who like to buy the rumor and sell the news, will likely focus on the smaller companies like ABOS, ALEC, PASG, etc, for outsized reactions to any PR that comes out early.

Event Traders might have some insight as to what kind of information a company will be presenting, and if it happens to be non-public, or newsworthy but just not widely known, there could be a trade for them as well.

Both categories of traders will want to monitor the technical indicators for signs of frontloading before the event in the case of the Event Traders (as seen by rises in relative volume in the days prior to the event, if there is a downtrend), and for signs of a shift in the sentiment of traders leading up to the event.
