CHRS – US Launch of drug “Cimerli”

The US launch of a drug is one of those news events that is entirely known by the market. On one hand, selling a new product is definitely a great thing for the bottom line. On the other hand, the expectations of what the drug sales will produce has already been discussed at this point.

With that in mind, this event seems to be more approachable for the “Runup” traders, who like to buy the rumor and sell the news. The rumor is the weeks before the October 3 date, when PR and all kinds of wacko bogus theories can be put out by people on social media and really paint a picture without the interference of real data. Then, when the sales begin, we start to see data.

A more important date for the “event” type guys might be the first time they report numbers, either at the end of the first month or first quarter. If they sold more than forecast, the price probably spikes. But that data is not coming on the 3rd.
