This event has a TON of presenters, which is beneficial to the “Event” type traders because the audience for any single companies presentation will be padded with people who are really at the event to listen to another company. If a presentation really gets the attention of the people at the conference, it could spur on some buying.

Conversely, the “Runup” crew, who likes to buy the rumor (a period before the catalyst) and sell the news, there might be something for those who really dig in. A smaller cap company with maybe a very low average daily volume (signaling they don’t have a lot of PR and excitement usually) might fare well if they release a PR about the event, with some details about what they might be talking about. An important note, it is almost impossible for them to present something that is not known to the public without first filing an 8K with the SEC, so the “sell the rumor” folks have that on their side.
