BRFH – Business Update Conference Call

There are not a lot of hints as to what this could be about.  It might be as simple as a yearly report, but I have never seen such vague PR about a yearly report before.

Runup traders might catch some rumor situation prior to the event, but it seems like Event Traders might be more interested in playing the event.  This was scheduled well ahead of the presentation.  Bad news often comes up suddenly, and I can’t imagine a company scheduling an update about bad news so far out in advance.  That’s not to say its guaranteed to be good news at all.  Arguably, there’s more likelihood that this event passes without much stock price change.  But there is still a good probability that the update will be positive and the market may react favorably.  For this event, we are leaning towards calling it an Event Trade with a slight Afterglow.  However, because the recent price action, there might be a reason to grab it during the Runup period.  As of 10/24, the stock price has fallen from a year high of 8 (it hit 13.36 on a very brief spike) to 2.52, and often a little direct communication from management in the form of a Business Update can re-inspire the old believers and cause a little price reaction.
